The Pink Ribbon

The aim of The Pink Ribbon-actions is to show solidarity with those whose lives have been affected directly or indirectly by breast cancer, spread information and create worldwide awareness about breast cancer and collect funds for breast cancer research and breast cancer prevention.

Funds collected through the Pink Ribbon-actions goes directly to breast cancer research and breast cancer releated projects.

The Pink Ribbon originates from USA were american women demanded higher budget appropriations for breast cancer research. One of the first front figures were Evelyn Lauder in the cosmetics company Estée Lauder.

My mother has been diagnosed with breast cancer, twice. Indebted to proper, adequate and essential treatment, she is – thankfully and gratefully enough, still amongst us – 8 years later.

To honor her, my daughter, all other women and families “out there” whose lives have been affected directly or indirectly by breast cancer, I have decided that I will donate a given percentage of my online earnings to the World Health Organization (WHO), represented in Norway by the Norwegian Breast Cancer Group (NBCG) under the Norwegian Cancer Society (NCS).
